A 19-year-old resident of Tver, Semyon Koshevoy, has been prosecuted on suspicion of attempted treason, Astra reports . He was detained in the Belgorod region.
According to investigators, Koshevoy was going to join the Freedom of Russia Legion and fight on the side of Ukraine. Whether there is any evidence of this in the case is unknown.
Also, according to Astra, a criminal case against Koshevoy was opened yesterday, but he has been under arrest since March 20. The formal reason for his arrest was "drunkenness", and even later a protocol was drawn up against him on the "demonstration of Nazi symbols."
The Freedom of Russia Legion is a military unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, formed, according to Ukrainian officials, from Russian prisoners of war and volunteers who defected to Ukraine. At the same time, there is no independent confirmation of the real existence of the Legion.
On April 12, it was reported that a court in Belgorod sentenced Russian Sergei Glushenkov to four and a half years in a strict regime colony for attempting to join the Freedom of Russia Legion. He was also accused of "preparing to commit high treason".
