Petersburg human rights activist Dinar Idrisov became a defendant in the case of an administrative offense under the article on “discrediting” the Russian army. He writes about this in his Telegram channel, pointing out that a protocol was drawn up against him for anti-war posts on his Vkontakte page, which was blocked since last year.
The reason for the persecution of Idrisov was three publications. Two of them were made on February 24, 2022, the day the war began, and another one on May 19 of the same year. In them, he used the abbreviation ХВ in the meaning of “X * th war”, was indignant at the genocide of Ukrainians and military censorship.
Idrisov writes that a report on an administrative offense against him was drawn up by police major Stepanov A.V. This happened on March 2, 2023, and on April 11 it began to be considered in court. Since Idrisov's Vkontakte page was blocked earlier, Stepanov could not find his posts in the public domain. “Kafka has been smoking on the sidelines for a long time,” the human rights activist sneers.
He notes that the inspection of his Vkontakte profile was carried out by an employee of the E Center on December 2, 2022, while the account inspection act was dated January 31, 2023. Idrisov emphasizes that in this way his case, “like many others like him”, is built on the basis of evidence obtained in violation of the law.
Shortly after the Russian attack on Ukraine, on March 14, 2022, the State Duma adopted a law prohibiting the “discrediting” of the Russian army. It is used by Russian courts to repress citizens who have allowed themselves any public anti-war action, including a veiled one. Repeated “discrediting” threatens a person with criminal prosecution.
In order to determine the public nature of the action, it is enough for the informer to record it. So, the former driver of the Moscow police department, Sergei Vedel , was arrested for "discrediting" the army after his telephone conversation was listened to by an employee of the internal affairs bodies. He reported that the overheard conversation caused him "feelings of anxiety, fear and insecurity."
