Mexican President Andres Manuel López Obrador has accused the Pentagon of spying on his country's government, Reuters reports . The secret documents of the American military department, leaked to the network, contained data regarding the conflict between the leadership of the Navy and the Secretariat of National Defense of Mexico.
López Obrador described the activities of American intelligence as "abusive unauthorized interference [in the affairs of the country] which is unacceptable under any circumstances." The President also stressed that he would not take any specific measures against the United States, but was going to discuss the "terms of cooperation" between the two countries with the American leadership.
He also promised to block access to sensitive information for the country's military departments.
According to the Washington Post, which found this data in secret Pentagon documents, there is no evidence that they came from representatives of the Mexican authorities.
The secret information of the Pentagon was “leaked” into a group on the Discord platform by the US Air Force National Guardsman Jack Teixeira. In addition to the analysis of world events, it contained information and forecasts of the US military regarding the war in Ukraine.
