Russian court fines Twitch another 4 million rubles for refusing to remove “fake” about mobilization

The justice of the peace of the judicial district of the Tagansky district of Moscow fined the Twitch service, a subsidiary of Amazon, another 4 million rubles for refusing to remove "fakes" about the war in Ukraine, in particular, about the ongoing mobilization and nuclear war in Russia. It is reported by Interfax.

Judge Timur Vakhremeev recognized Twitch Interactive, Inc. guilty of committing an administrative offense "failure to remove prohibited content" (part 2 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation), the Vedomosti correspondent clarifies . The Prosecutor General's Office revealed information about the war in Ukraine on four links, which ones are not specified.

Earlier, the court fined the Wikimedia Foundation project, which manages Wikipedia, 2 million rubles for failing to remove “fakes” about the Russian army.

With the start of the war in Ukraine, the Russian authorities resumed their attempts to block Russians from accessing all sorts of information and foreign platforms. Together with blocking in the Russian Federation, attempts to replace Instagram, YouTube and Wikipedia created in “unfriendly countries” with domestic services are not abandoned. However, Russians continue to use foreign services, such as the American Instagram instead of Rosgram , even after the blocking, by installing a VPN. The fact that Russian counterparts will not be able to replace American ones is recognized by the creators of domestic services themselves. For example, RuTube loses to American video hosting, said Alexander Zharov, CEO of Gazprom-Media, who earned about 300 million rubles on the creation of a platform that did not fully work in the Russian Federation.
