The government allocated 77 million rubles to the state corporation Roskomos, which the company must pay by court decision to the Ministry of Finance as a fine for fraud revealed during the construction of the Vostochny cosmodrome. The document, signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
In November 2021, the defendants in the case of the theft of 400 million rubles during the preparation of estimates during the construction of the facilities of the Vostochny cosmodrome received real terms from 4 to 5.5 years in prison. The Prosecutor General's Office reported that since 2014, due to numerous violations during the construction of the cosmodrome, 140 criminal cases have been initiated, the total amount of damage is estimated at 11 billion rubles. In 2019, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov claimed that “every tenth ruble” allocated for the construction of the spaceport was stolen.
