Pavel Durov became poorer than other Russian billionaires in a year – Forbes

According to Forbes magazine, Pavel Durov lost $3.6 billion in a year, thus becoming the most impoverished Russian billionaire.

Now his fortune is estimated at $ 11.5 billion, and he has moved to tenth place among Russian billionaires. Forbes suggests that this is due to the decline in share prices of Telegram competitors, including WhatsApp and Snapchat, which also affected the Russian messenger.

Pavel Durov is not the only Russian billionaire whose wealth has declined over the past year. The fortune of Leonid Boguslavsky, the founder of RTP Global, decreased by $1.1 billion to $3.6 billion. This was also affected by a decrease in the price of shares of Datadog, in which he owns a stake.

In addition to Boguslavsky, the brothers Dmitry and Igor Bukhman, the founders of the game developer Playrix, occupy the top lines of the rating. Each of them lost $1.1 billion, each is worth $7.7 billion.

Forbes also noted a general decline in interest in video game developers. For example, over the year, Take-Two Interactive Software and Electronic Arts stocks have fallen by 24% and 4%, respectively.

A total of 13 Russian billionaires faced a reduction in wealth, losing a total of $8.5 billion. At the same time, the total number of billionaires in Russia increased compared to 2022. If earlier there were 88 Russians in the global ranking, now there are 110 of them.

Earlier, Arabian Business magazine recognized Pavel Durov as the most influential person in Dubai. The businessman moved the Telegram headquarters to this country in 2017.
