Ukraine was again attacked by Shahed from Russia, 8 out of 10 drones were destroyed – Ukrainian Armed Forces

On the night of April 21, after a 25-day lull, Ukraine was again attacked by Iranian-made Shahed drones from Russia. This is stated in the morning summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, published on Facebook.

In total, about 10 drones were released, 8 of them were destroyed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the statement says. According to the Kiev military administration, drones were shot down near Kiev. In the Poltava region, after the attack, a civilian infrastructure facility was destroyed, said the head of the regional military administration (OVA), Dmitry Lunin.

Over the past day, the Russian army launched 23 air strikes on Ukraine, according to the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the end of March, the British Ministry of Defense reported that since the beginning of the month, Russia had launched at least 71 Shahed UAVs on the territory of Ukraine. Prior to this, the Russian side took a two-week break in the use of UAVs. As the MoD emphasized at the time, this may indicate that the Russian Federation began to replenish their stocks on a regular basis. Russia is likely launching Shahed from two directions: from the Krasnodar region of Russia in the east and from the Bryansk region in the northeast, which, among other things, reduces the flight time to targets in northern Ukraine.

On the night of March 22, Russia attacked Ukraine with Shahed-136 kamikaze drones. In the Kyiv region, three people died, seven were injured. Seven people died as a result of Rzhishchev's attack.
