FSB investigators charged with "treason" in favor of foreign countries to Russian Dmitry Kicha, who served as deputy head of the testing laboratory of the capital's arms factory "Promtekhnologiya". It is reported by TASS. The Promtekhnologiya plant produces hunting and sporting rifles under the ORSIS brand. Updated: The official representative of the Promtekhnologiya company told RIA Novosti that Kicha worked at the plant until March 2021.
The law enforcement agencies clarified to the agency that the capital's court had already sent Kiche to the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center, investigative actions are being carried out as part of the investigation of the criminal case.
The Lefortovsky Court of Moscow confirmed the choice of such a measure, and also announced the extension of the arrest for two months. They declined to comment further, citing the fact that the criminal case contains materials marked “secret”.
The page of the Promtekhnologiya plant says that the industrial production of hunting and sporting rifles in Moscow under the ORSIS brand began in March 2011. The company also conducts research and development work in the development and modernization of modern high-precision weapons systems, and cooperates with specialists from Russian research institutes and higher technical educational institutions in the field of metalworking, materials science, development and design of small arms.
On April 18, the State Duma immediately adopted in the second and third readings a law on life imprisonment for "treason." Amendments were also adopted that toughen responsibility for sabotage and terrorism. Previously, under article 275 of the Criminal Code, it was possible to receive a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison with a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles.
On April 4, the FSB detained a married couple in Nizhny Tagil for “espionage in the interests of Ukraine” at a military-industrial complex enterprise. Spouses from Nizhny Tagil, working at Uralvagonzavod, were suspected of "treason", they allegedly handed over secret information (drawings) to the special services of Ukraine for 100 thousand rubles. As Kholod found out, these are Danil and Victoria Mukhametovs, they were identified by a local resident, as well as an acquaintance of the detained Russians.
Before that, in March, a resident of Khabarovsk was accused of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a case of "treason" was initiated. Before that, the FSB detained on suspicion of “treason” a resident of Moscow, who allegedly transferred money to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The human rights project "First Department" noted that this is the first known case when a case for providing financial assistance to Ukraine is initiated under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (treason).
