The second deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation died in a day

The head of the faction of the United Russia party in the State Duma, Vladimir Vasiliev, announced the death of a deputy from Karachay-Cherkessia, Jasharbek Uzdenov. According to Vasiliev, death was due to an illness with which Uzdenov struggled for a long time. Uzdenov missed many meetings in 2022 and did not vote for Russia's recognition of the "DPR" and "LPR" and the law on electronic subpoenas. Before the State Duma, he worked as the Minister of Natural Resources of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic.

Earlier it was reported that State Duma deputy Nikolai Bortsov died. He was included in the Forbes list, fell under EU sanctions and was convicted in absentia by a Ukrainian court. Bortsov has been in the Russian parliament since 2003, representing United Russia there. Bortsov, along with his son Yuri (died in 2010), were the main shareholders of the Lebedyansky cannery, which was sold to PepsiCo in 2008 for $1.35 billion.
