Fox News has terminated the contract with Biden’s main critic, one of the channel’s highest-rated journalists, Tucker Carlson.

TV journalist Tucker Carlson, who actively opposes US President Joe Biden, is leaving Fox News. This was reported by the press service of the channel. Carlson is one of the highest rated journalists on the only republican channel. He is known for his harsh criticism of Democrats and, in particular, Joe Biden. He repeatedly ridiculed Biden for his statements, including, for example, about the involvement of the Russian Federation in undermining the Nord Stream gas pipelines, calling it "the funniest lie of the year" from Biden.

The last author's program of the journalist on the channel – "Tucker Carlson tonight" – aired on April 21. Temporarily, the evening show Fox News Tonight is on the broadcast network, which will be hosted in turn by various presenters.

"FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways," according to the company's website.

The reason for Carslon's dismissal was not disclosed, but the American media noticed that it came days after Fox News agreed to pay more than $767 million to Dominion Voting Systems in a libel case in the 2020 presidential election, which Biden won.

On April 19, it became known that Fox News entered into a settlement agreement with the Canadian company Dominion Voting Systems, which manufactures and sells voting hardware and software.

In November 2020, Fox News, a traditional Republican supporter and then-President Donald Trump, cast doubt on the results of the vote for several weeks after the election, offering various versions, including that Dominion voting machines could be used to distortion of the results of the expression of will. Dominion considered these allegations to be slander and went to court.

The nearly $800 million in compensation represents about a quarter of Fox News's annual pre-tax earnings. This is the largest media defamation prosecution in US history.
