Alexei Navalny was handed 700 sheets of case materials for a hearing in the Basmanny Court, but they are not given time to familiarize themselves with them, reports SotaVision. The meeting will take place the next day, April 26.
During a meeting in the Kovrov City Court on administrative claims against the colony, Navalny asked Judge Kirill Nikiforov to be given time to work on four volumes of the criminal case. The investigator brought the materials on April 24 at 9:59.
“I'm so overwhelmed with materials right now and I'm also working 8 hours a day. There is no time in the daily routine to work with documents. Now the time for writing letters and postcards has been eliminated. There is only personal time, but this is my time to write letters to my family,” Navalny said.
Navalny clarified that the fact that he was given documents for review does not mean that he read them. According to him, they will be taken away when he returns to the cell, and if there is his signature, this does not mean that he has read the materials. Navalny is also allowed to read books in ShIZO only in his personal time.
Nikiforov satisfied only one complaint, noting that the colony should bring documents to Navalny in advance, and not "a minute before the start of the meeting."
They are preparing to open a new criminal case against Navalny, lawyer Vadim Kobzev said. On April 11, it became known that Alexei Navalny was sent to the ShIZO for 15 days for the 13th time. He spent only two days in an ordinary cell – Saturday and Sunday.
