Peskov called denunciations, which have become more frequent in the country, a “disgusting” practice

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov called "disgusting" the practice of denunciations, which has again spread in Russia recently. He told reporters about this on the sidelines of the Knowledge marathon, Interfax reports .

The Kremlin representative was asked how he feels about the numerous denunciations that have become more frequent recently, including the denunciation of the actor Danila Kozlovsky.

“As for the denunciations, it has always been disgusting, it is, and I hope it will be so,” Peskov said.

In early April, Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federal Security and Anti-Corruption Project, asked the Prosecutor General’s Office to check Kozlovsky for “discrediting” the army because of an anti-war post that the actor published on social networks in February 2022. Borodin also stated that after the start of the war, Kozlovsky left for the United States. The actor explained that he traveled to the US to visit the child. On April 17, the prosecutor's office began checking Kozlovsky under the article on "discrediting" the army. Performances with his participation began to be canceled.

Borodin also wrote denunciations against other people. For example, he asked to open a case against actress Leah Akhedzhakova under the article on treason, and to check the singer Alla Pugacheva for financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Because of the denunciation, a single father Aleksey Moskalev, whose daughter Masha drew an anti-war drawing at school in an art lesson, is being persecuted. The teacher denounced her to the school administration, and the family was searched. The man was later sentenced to 2 years in prison in the case of repeated “discrediting” of the army due to several publications in Odnoklassniki, including the crimes of Russian servicemen in Bucha and the murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war in Yelenovka.

At the end of March 2023, the St. Petersburg archaeologist Oleg Belousov was sentenced to 5.5 years for “fakes” about the army. He was denounced by his friends in public on VKontakte.
