A MiG-31 fighter jet crashed in the Murmansk region, as evidenced by a video circulating on social networks. The fact of the accident was confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The department said that the fighter, performing a training flight, crashed in a deserted place. Both pilots ejected, rescuers found them, they are alive.
Since the beginning of the war in Russia, accidents of military aircraft have become more frequent. By December 2022, there were at least 12 such incidents, in most cases the Ministry of Defense stated that the flights were training.
The most serious disaster was the crash of a Su-34 bomber in Yeysk, Krasnodar Territory, which fell near a nine-story residential building. Then 15 people died.
