Putin signed a decree providing for the deportation of Ukrainian citizens who did not take Russian citizenship from the occupied territories

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which citizens of Ukraine in the occupied territories and holders of DPR and LPR passports must receive Russian citizenship by September 30, 2023. Otherwise, they may be recognized as foreign citizens or stateless persons and deported.

According to the decree, those who refuse to obtain Russian citizenship will be able to stay at their place of residence until July 1, 2024.

The document also contains a clause stating that people who will threaten “national security”, plan extremist and terrorist crimes, can be expelled. Where exactly they are going to be expelled is not specified in the decree.

Earlier, RIA Novosti published a video showing residents of Zaporozhye being expelled to Ukraine.
