Death toll from Russian rocket attack in Uman rises to 16

According to the latest data, 15 civilians were killed in Uman as a result of Russian rocket fire. This was reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Among the dead were two children.

“Uman. Debris clearing continues. Already 13 dead. Two of them are children who cannot be recognized. The fate of their parents is unknown. Rescuers will work until they are sure that no one else is left under the rubble. My condolences to the families of the victims and to all who suffered from this aggression. We will defeat Russian terror only together – with weapons for Ukraine, the most severe sanctions against the terrorist state, fair sentences for murderers," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky wrote earlier.

Early in the morning of April 28, Russian troops launched a massive missile attack on the Dnepropetrovsk, Cherkasy and Kyiv regions. In Uman, a rocket hit a residential building. In Dnipro, a rocket attack also hit a residential building. Two people died there, including a two-year-old girl, said the head of the Dnepropetrovsk regional administration, Sergei Lysak. A missile attack was also carried out on Kiev, said the head of the city military administration, Sergei Popko. According to the authorities, the Ukrainian capital was fired from strategic aircraft. 11 cruise missiles were shot down over the city, as well as two drones.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny said that in total, 21 out of 23 Kh-101 / Kh-555 cruise missiles, as well as two operational-tactical UAVs, were destroyed during the missile attack . According to him, the blow was delivered from Tu-95 bombers from the Caspian Sea.
