The Armed Forces of Ukraine called the attack on the oil depot in Sevastopol preparation for a counteroffensive

The fire at the oil depot in the occupied Sevastopol is preparation for a large-scale counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was told by the head of the Joint Coordinating Press Center of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine Natalia Gumenyuk.

“We have already noticed that they [the Russian military] are reorienting to base points towards Novorossiysk, because they do not feel peace in the Sevastopol bays and do not feel that stable logistics support … The fact that the enemy’s logistics has been undermined is one of the elements of preparation for powerful active the actions of the Defense Forces, we have been talking for a long time. And this work is preparatory to the broad full-scale offensive that everyone expects. Therefore, the enemy feels that his resources have been undermined and begins to maneuver, ”Gumenyuk said during the telethon.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with Scandinavian journalists, said that the counteroffensive would not be tied to obtaining F-16 fighters: “We will not delay, and we will start even before we have F-16s or anything else . Reassure Russia that we need a few months to learn on airplanes, and only then we will start – no. He also once again spoke about the future return of Crimea: “When we come to the administrative borders with Crimea, you will see how the Russians will run. Faster than from Donbass.”

The fuel tank at the oil depot near the Cossack Bay of Sevastopol caught fire on the night of April 29. The occupation authorities of the peninsula said that the fire started as a result of a drone attack, and in response they called for a strike on Odessa.
