Russian opposition in Berlin signed a joint declaration calling for refraining from conflicts in anti-war movements

Russian opposition activists at a meeting in Berlin signed the "Declaration of Russian Democratic Forces". The document was published on the Change.org platform. Its authors call on all willing citizens of Russia to join this declaration. The meeting in Berlin was initiated by Mikhail Khodorkovsky and a number of other oppositionists living in exile. Supporters of Alexei Navalny did not participate in it and the document has not yet been signed.

In the declaration, the "strategic goals" of the Russian opposition are "the cessation of aggression against Ukraine and the creation of a free, legal, federal Russia." The Insider publishes the points of the declaration in full:

1. The war against Ukraine is criminal. Russian troops must be withdrawn from all occupied territories; Russia's internationally recognized borders must be restored; war criminals must be brought to justice, and victims of aggression must be compensated.

2. Putin's regime is illegitimate and criminal. Therefore, it must be eliminated. We see Russia as a country in which the rights and freedoms of the individual are guaranteed, and the possibility of usurpation of state power is ruled out.

3. The implementation of imperial policy within the country and abroad is unacceptable.

4. Political prisoners and prisoners of war must be released, forcibly displaced persons must be allowed to return, and abducted Ukrainian children must be immediately returned to Ukraine.

5. We express our solidarity with those Russians who, despite the monstrous repressions, have the courage to come out with anti-Putin and anti-war positions. And with those tens of millions who refuse to participate in the crimes of the regime.

The document notes that the signatories refrain from public conflicts in the anti-war and democratic movements.
