The profit of leading Russian companies involved in the maintenance and repair of imported aircraft fell by almost 6 times in 2022, to 386 million rubles. RBC writes about this with reference to the financial statements of companies.
The largest company in the market (S7 Technics) reduced revenue by 8.5% and net profit by 43%. At Aeroflot Technics, revenue grew by 4.9%, but the maximum loss in its history was recorded at 570 million rubles.
According to an Aeroflot representative, a third of the loss is related to the peculiarities of the new accounting standards, and the remaining amount is due to additional costs and a decrease in airliner flight hours in the second quarter of 2022.
In February last year, the European Union announced a ban on the sale, transfer, supply or export of aircraft and any components to Russia. In February of this year, it became known that Russian airlines, including Aeroflot, asked the Federal Air Transport Agency and Rostransnadzor to allow maintenance of foreign aircraft (Boeing and Airbus) at extended intervals.
