Russian Alexei Moskalev, convicted under the article on repeated “discrediting” of the army, was found in SIZO-1 in Smolensk. This was told to OVD-Info by his lawyer Vladimir Bilienko.
On May 3, Bilienko met with Moskalev in the pre-trial detention center. Aleksei said that on March 30 he was detained in the city of Smolevichi by 8 officers of the special services of Belarus, during the arrest he was severely beaten, a muscle on his right leg was beaten off and hit on the head several times. The man was also beaten with his head against the wall. Then handcuffs were put on Moskalev, they were tightened tightly and he was taken to the temporary detention facility, where he spent two or three days. After that, he was transferred to prison and kept there for about a week. The defendant did not confirm the information that he was in a pre-trial detention center in Zhodzina. Due to the handcuffs tightly tightened during the arrest, Moskalev still does not feel his thumbs.
Before the arrest, he did not call anyone on the phone and stressed that he did not have a phone with him at all. Earlier, the media reported that the security forces were able to track the man because of the switched on smartphone.
Moskalev was taken to Russia by people in civilian clothes in a car without departmental markings. On the territory of the Russian Federation, he was first taken to the temporary detention facility in Smolensk, where he spent two days, and then to a pre-trial detention center.
The publication also publishes a note that Moskalev handed over to activists and all caring people.
On March 28, Moskalev was sentenced to two years in prison. The day before, he escaped from house arrest, but two days later he was detained in Belarus. On April 12, it became known that the man was extradited to Russia. Since then, none of the relatives and confidants knew where he was. Earlier it became known that Moskalev had a new lawyer – Rostislav Kulikov. Moskalev's former lawyer, Vladimir Biliyenko, found out about Kulikov's participation by chance – a complaint from a new lawyer turned out to be in the case. Lawyer Dmitry Zakhvatov said that Moskalev was specially hidden from everyone in order, probably, to be tortured.
Moskalev and his daughter Masha began to be persecuted after the girl drew an anti-war drawing at school during an art lesson. The teacher denounced her to the school administration, and the family was searched. After discovering anti-war posts on social networks, the man was taken to the FSB, and Masha was sent to a shelter. Since then, Moskalev has been under house arrest in a criminal case on the repeated “discrediting” of the Russian army (part 1 of article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The man himself claims that he did not publish the posts imputed to him – his page was hacked several times.
