In the Kharkiv region, a local resident was sentenced to 13 years in prison with confiscation of property on charges of collaborationism. This is stated in the message of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to investigators, a 64-year-old man voluntarily took a “position” in a “law enforcement agency” created by the Russians during the occupation of the village of Borovaya, Izyumsky District.
In the village, the man was "on duty at the duty unit" of a pseudo-law enforcement agency – the "People's Police". He carried out the checkpoint regime in the police and guarded the administrative building.
The village of Borovaya was liberated in October 2022. The defendant himself pleaded not guilty.
