Playwright Svetlana Petriychuk was detained at Vnukovo airport, her husband Yuri Shekhvatov said. According to him, she is being interrogated, presumably in connection with the staging of the play Finist the Clear Sokol, for which the play was written by Petriychuk.
Earlier today it became known that the director of the play, Yevgenia Berkovich, was charged with a criminal case under the article on justifying terrorism. Berkovich's mother told about it.
Finist Yasny Sokol is a play that Berkovich staged in Moscow for the independent theater project Soso's Daughters. The performance based on the play by Svetlana Petriychuk tells about women who decide to marry Islamic militants and go to live with them in Syria. The premiere took place in December 2020, in 2022 the performance received the Golden Mask award in two categories.
