Yevgeny Prigozhin recorded a video message to the military leadership of the Russian Federation. In the video, he stated that the shortage of ammunition reaches 70%, and criticized Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov.

In December 2022, allegedly Wagner PMC mercenaries published an appeal to Valery Gerasimov demanding to provide shells. They stated that they were experiencing great difficulties near Bakhmut due to the lack of weapons.
