Alexey Moskalev was transferred to the Tula region

Alexei Moskalev was transferred from the pre-trial detention center of Smolensk to the Tula region. This became known to the support group of the political prisoner. The activists tried to send a letter to Moskalev, but received a reply stating that he “departed for the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Tula Region.” According to Moskalev's lawyer Vladimir Bilienko, he was probably sent to SIZO-1 in Tula. Details are not yet known to him.

On May 3, it became known that Moskalev was in SIZO-1 in Smolensk. Bilienko told about it. He met with his client and he told him that he was detained on March 30 in Smolevichi. The detention was carried out by eight employees of the Belarusian special services. They severely beat Moskalev with their hands and feet on the chest and back, beat off a muscle on his right leg, and also beat his head against the wall. After the beating he was put on tightly tightened handcuffs and taken to the detention center. According to Moskalyov, after the handcuffs, he still does not feel his thumbs. Since the moment of detention, there has been no information about the whereabouts of Moskalev. Initially, it was assumed that they could find him because he turned on the phone, but the man himself emphasized that he did not have a phone with him.

At the end of March, Moskalev was sentenced to two years in prison under the article on repeated “discrediting” of the Russian army (part 1 of article 280.3 of the Criminal Code). Formally, the reason for initiating the case was his comments on social networks. The actual persecution of Moskalev began in the spring of 2022, when his daughter Masha drew an anti-war drawing at an art lesson. After that, Moskalev was demanded to be deprived of parental rights, and the girl was taken to a shelter.

Moskalev's support group is raising funds for his maintenance in a pre-trial detention center and later in a colony. Collection card: 5559 4941 1962 0416 (“Alfa-Bank”, Ian Yulianovich, indicate “For Alexei” in the message).
