AP: Russian ambassador to Poland was given a note of protest for Pavel Astakhov’s words about the murder of the Polish ambassador

Poland's Foreign Ministry has summoned the Russian ambassador to deliver a note of protest over statements by former Russian ombudsman for children's rights Pavel Astakhov, The Associated Press reports . He called for the assassination of the Polish ambassador to Russia during a telecast of propagandist Vladimir Solovyov.

The studio discussed the confiscation of the school at the Russian embassy by the mayor's office of Warsaw. Astakhov complained about “gross violations of the Vienna Consular Convention,” and then remembered how Sergei Andreev, the Russian ambassador to Poland, was doused with paint on May 9 last year.

The former ombudsman said that at that time he “expected whether they would find a floating ambassador of Poland in the Moscow River, or if they would.” Astakhov called this method of reprisal “retaliatory actions against unfriendly manifestations,” which allegedly are “within the framework of international law.” He also stated that he was "excellent in the KGB school at the counterintelligence department."

Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Lukasz Jasina said that the Polish side strongly opposes this situation and calls for an immediate criminal investigation against Pavel Astakhov.

Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev stated on his Twitter that “Poland should not exist” for Russia, “as long as there is no one in power [there] except Russophobes.” He also said that Ukraine "is full of Polish mercenaries who must be ruthlessly exterminated like stinking rats."
