Belarus began to check the documents of those entering from Russia – “Zerkalo”

Checkpoints have appeared on the border between Belarus and Russia from the Belarusian side, where the passports of those entering are checked. This information was confirmed by the Belarusian State Border Committee, Zerkalo reports .

About the installation of “some checkpoints in the form of towers” at the exit from the Republic of Belarus through Dobrush, “Flagpole” wrote earlier. According to Zerkalo sources, they are also installed on the M1 highway near the border. The border checkpoint consists of "a pair of trailers for border guards, four barriers" and "a barrier tape with spikes."

As the State Border Committee told the publication, control is established only at the entrance "in accordance with the legislation on the border service." The department says that this measure is temporary and will be in effect "until further notice."

Belarusian telegram channels write that this led to traffic jams at the border. The channel "Motolkopomogi" reports from the words of readers that the control is being carried out for more than three hours, while "everyone is driven out of the cars, searched, and documents are written down."

On March 18, 2023, Russia and Belarus lifted all mutual restrictions on movement between the two countries, which were introduced in 2020 due to the COVID-19 epidemic
