Occupation authorities of Zaporozhye region take out civilians from 18 settlements due to shelling

The “acting head” of the Zaporozhye region, Yevgeny Balitsky, installed by Russia, announced the partial removal of residents of 18 front-line settlements. The message was published in his Telegram channel.

The occupying authorities explain the evacuation of civilians by shelling, which has become more frequent in the past few days.

“Over the past few days, the enemy has intensified shelling of settlements located in close proximity to the line of contact. In this regard, I decided to remove, first of all, children with their parents, the elderly, the disabled, patients of medical institutions from the enemy's fire impact and move them from the front-line territories deep into the region.

Residents will be forced to relocate from the settlements of Timoshovka, Smirnovo, Tarasovka, Orlyanskoye, Molochansk, Kuibyshevo, Prishib, Tokmak, Malaya Belozerka, Vasilyevka, Velikaya Belozerka, Dneprorudnoe, Mikhailovka, Kamenka-Dneprovskaya, Energodar, Pologi, Horse Discord, Rozovka.

According to him, the movement of residents "will be organized within the region."

On May 3, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the occupation administration of the Zaporozhye region, reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had launched an offensive. Motorized riflemen and intelligence of the Russian Federation "met" the Armed Forces of Ukraine with aimed fire, he said. Rogov later added that it was a reconnaissance in force, and the Ukrainian troops had already retreated.

In April, at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), the windows of the turbine hall of the fourth power unit were knocked out by a blast wave, said Renat Karchaa, adviser to the head of Rosenergoatom. According to him, this happened due to the operation of the UAV. Before that, the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, announced "military preparations" at the ZNPP. Experts at the site reported hearing explosions, sometimes indicative of heavy shelling near the nuclear power plant. Zaporozhye NPP has been under the control of Russian troops almost since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. All this time, the authorities controlled by the Russian Federation, including Ukrainian officials who have defected to Russia, have been terrorizing the station employees – they are kidnapped, interrogated and tortured. On December 8, two workers were severely beaten , they were taken away in an unknown direction. In July, it became known about the death of Andrey Goncharuk, a diver of the ZNPP hydroshop, due to torture: they tried to force him to drain the cooling pools of the reactors.
