The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the end of the coronavirus pandemic. During this time, at least 20 million people have died, said WHO chief Tedros Ghebreyesus.
He stressed that the efforts of doctors, governments that took tough measures, as well as ordinary people who made personal sacrifices for the sake of common security, helped to defeat the coronavirus.
“However, this does not mean that COVID-19 has ceased to be a global threat to public health. Last week, the coronavirus claimed one life every three minutes – and these are only the cases that we know about, ”the WHO says.
