19 people died in forest fires in the Kurgan region

As a result of forest fires blazing in the Kurgan region, 19 people died. This is reported by TASS with reference to doctors.

Telegram-channel "PE Kurgan" reports that at least seven people died in the Tatar village of Yuldus, which burned down almost completely, four more – in Kurgan. 19 fires continue to rage in the region.

The emergency services of TASS said that the fire destroyed almost 5.7 thousand buildings in the Urals Federal District, the Kurgan region suffered the most.

The official Telegram channel of the Kurgan region reports that the families of those killed in the fires on April 27 and May 7 will receive one million rubles each. The number of dead is not specified. The regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that since the beginning of the year, law enforcement agencies have detained 46 arsonists, including children. Seven criminal cases were initiated.

The fire also engulfed the Tyumen and Sverdlovsk regions. On May 6, it was reported that fires led to explosions at two powder depots in Pervomaisk, Sverdlovsk Region, and residents began to be evacuated from the city. The fire affected Asbest, Nizhny Tagil and Yekaterinburg. In the Tyumen region, residents of seven settlements were evacuated.
