During the 45-minute parade on Red Square showed the only tank – T-34

During the Victory Parade on Red Square on May 9, they showed the only tank – the T-34. The parade was broadcast live by the Russian media, including RIA Novosti. The parade itself lasted about 45 minutes.

Channel One in its broadcast described the participation of one tank in the parade as follows: “The passage of a mechanized column through Red Square was traditionally opened by the legendary T-34 tank. The most massive, simple, reliable, super-efficient – it's all about the "thirty-four". It is not for nothing that it is called the "Victory tank". During the war years, almost 65,000 such combat vehicles were produced, and this is an absolute record in world tank building.

One of the most famous OSINT resources, Oryx, which tracks the use and loss of military equipment, at the "numerous requests" of readers, compiled a list of tanks that took part in the parade on Red Square: 1 T-34-85.

This year, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke for about 10 minutes, he congratulated those present on Victory Day, recalled "saving humanity from Nazism", and also said that now is "a turning point." Speaking about the war in Ukraine, he claimed that the war was unleashed “against the Motherland”, and Russia allegedly protects the inhabitants of Donbass. At this time, “Western elites are splitting society and sowing Russophobia,” as well as “aggressive nationalism.”

The air part of the parade was canceled this year, probably due to an attempted drone attack on the Kremlin in early May. Last year, several cities, including Moscow, also canceled the air part of the parade. In the Southern Military District, the cancellation was explained by "low visibility at the take-off airfields."

In 2022, Typhoon-VDV, Typhoon-K and Typhoon-K combat vehicles with BMDU entered the parade on May 9 in Moscow. Then the BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles with the Berezhok combat module, BMP-3 and Kurganets were presented. Then three types of combat vehicles were presented from the tank troops – T-72B3, T-90M "Breakthrough" and "Armata". They were followed by BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, Tornado-G MLRS, Iskander-M operational-tactical systems, and Msta-S self-propelled howitzers.

Before the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, even more military equipment was presented on the square during the parades. So, in 2015, 194 pieces of equipment were shown at the event, including Tigr vehicles, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, T-90A tanks, Msta-S self-propelled howitzers, Iskander operational-tactical missile systems, anti-aircraft Buk-M2, TOR-M2U missile systems, Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems, launchers of the S-400 anti-aircraft missile system.
