On May 9, anti-war actions are held in Russian cities

On May 9, several anti-war actions took place in Russia.

The Vesna movement reports that a postcard was left near the obelisk in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Victory in Ulyanovsk: “They did not fight for this!” Near the monument to the victims of political repression in St. Petersburg, yellow and blue flowers were laid and a postcard "Dnepr, Uman, Kherson … No war" was left as a reminder of the Ukrainian cities that suffered from Russian shelling. Also in Omsk and Penza, the appearance of anti-war graffiti was recorded.

OVD-Info reports the arrest of Diana Salikova, who was laying flowers at the monument to Lesya Ukrainka. The security forces demanded that she explain what the monument has to do with the May 9 holiday. After checking the documents, the girl was released.

The Telegram channel “Free People of Ivanov” writes that before the Victory Day, a banner with the inscription “No to Fascism!” was posted on one of the city’s bridges! Earlier in Ivanovo, on the anniversary of the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine, there was a banner "Enough of the bloody" fight for peace "".

In Khabarovsk, a woman came out with a poster “Memory is against war. Never again. Never ever". Her name has not been released, but it is reported that she was not detained.

The Vesna movement notes that the organization's anonymous bot receives photos of anti-war pickets, stickers, installations and leaflets from different cities of Russia. It calls for participation in protests against the war, "not forgetting the risks."
