The Pentagon announced the provision of Ukraine with a package of long-term military assistance in the amount of $1.2 billion

The Pentagon announced on its website a new $1.2 billion long-term military aid package for Ukraine.

Within its framework, new air defense systems and ammunition for them, as well as artillery shells of 155 mm caliber will be delivered to the country.

In addition, Ukraine will receive equipment designed to integrate Western launchers, missiles and air defense radars with the country's existing air defense systems. The package also includes anti-drone munitions, commercial satellite imagery services, and training and maintenance activities.

The report emphasizes that the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), under which the deliveries will be made, involves the purchase of equipment and ammunition from US partners or ordering it from manufacturing companies. Thus, we are talking about long-term military assistance to Ukraine, and not about immediate deliveries from the Pentagon warehouses, which are carried out in accordance with the Presidential Power of Attorney for Payments (PDA).

On May 3, the US Department of Defense announced a $300 million military aid package for Ukraine from US military reserves. This package included ammunition for HIMARS missile systems, Hydra-70 missiles, artillery shells and anti-tank systems.
