A protocol was drawn up against the singer Monetochka due to the lack of marking “foreign agent”

An administrative protocol was drawn up against the singer Monetochka (Elizaveta Gyrdymova) on the absence of a “foreign agent” marking (part 4 of article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Information about this appeared on the website of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow, drew the attention of Mediazona.

Gyrdymova was added to the register of “foreign agents” on January 20 due to the fact that the singer raised funds in support of Ukraine and spoke out against the war.

After the start of a full-scale war, the artist left Russia. Together with Noize MC, they hold concerts in support of Ukraine, raise funds and openly oppose the Russian invasion.

At the end of 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on imprisonment for up to five years for “foreign agents” who were brought to justice twice in a year for violating the procedure for the activities of a “foreign agent” (Article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation can declare any legal entity or individual a “foreign agent”, previously it was necessary to prove the fact that they received funding from abroad, but now it is enough that the suspect is “under foreign influence”. Also, the status of "foreign agent" is assigned to persons or organizations that conduct political activities or collect military-technical information that "can be used against the security of the country."
