The theater of Europe, closed after a denunciation of “discrediting the army”, will be judged because of unsanitary conditions. It faces a 90-day closure

Rospotrebnadzor drew up an administrative protocol on violation of sanitary standards at the Maly Drama Theater (MDT) by Lev Dodin – the Theater of Europe in St. Petersburg. According to the United Press Service of the Courts of St. Petersburg, the case has been transferred to the Kuibyshevsky District Court.

The protocol was drawn up under Part 1 of Art. 6.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. This article provides for punishment for legal entities in the form of a fine of up to 20 thousand rubles or suspension of activities for up to 90 days.

In the list of claims to the theater:

– there are no conditions for washing cleaning equipment;

– personnel are not instructed in disinfection;

– they do not monitor sick employees: the temperature log has not been kept since September 2022;

– there is no person responsible for the immunization of employees;

– part of the staff did not have the necessary vaccinations, 44 employees do not have measles vaccinations;

– 15 cleaners and 1 janitor work despite not being vaccinated against typhoid;

– the cook and the barmaid started work without checking for infections: the cook was checked after a month, and the barmaid after four.

Rospotrebnadzor sealed the entrance to the theater building on May 6. In early April, the head of the Federal Security and Anti-Corruption Project, Vitaly Borodin, asked the Prosecutor General's Office to check theater actor Danila Kozlovsky for "discrediting" the army because he left for the United States after the start of the war. Kozlovsky also published an anti-war post on Instagram in February 2022, and in an interview with Irina Shikhman allegedly “urged citizens to go to rallies.” On April 17, the prosecutor's office began checking Kozlovsky under the article on "discrediting" the army. Kozlovsky himself explained that he traveled to the United States to visit the child. He filed a lawsuit for the protection of honor and dignity against Borodin and TASS. However, the Presnensky Court did not accept the claim on formal grounds – the application did not contain comprehensive information about the defendant.

On April 22, the Theater of Europe postponed for a month two performances based on the play "Deceit and Love" with the participation of Kozlovsky. Previously, two performances of Hamlet with Kozlovsky in the title role were postponed.

The creator and artistic director of the theater Lev Dodin also signed an anti-war letter in March last year.
