Twitter banned Bellingcat account from search

Twitter banned the account of the investigative project Bellingcat in the internal search: accounts associated with the project appear in the search results, but not the main one. In some cases, it does not appear in the search results even for those who subscribe to it.

Earlier, Twitter owner Elon Musk was skeptical of the May 9 Bellingcat investigation into the man who shot dead eight people in the city's mall. Allen, Texas, after which he was killed by police. The journalists found out, in particular, that Mauricio Garcia had an account on the Russian social network Odnoklassniki. Musk stated that "it's either the weirdest story or very bad psy <i.e. intentional manipulation>", also noting that "Bellingcat literally specializes in psy". “If fucking your brain is a psychological operation, then you hit the target,” Khristo Grozev, a journalist for the project, told Musk.

In the past, Grozev made fun of the billionaire more than once. For example, when in October last year he proposed to give Crimea to Russia and hold referendums in the occupied territories in order to end the war, the journalist asked readers what should be done with Musk’s fortune: give it away, flush it down the toilet or burn it?

Another time, Grozev published a demotivator with Musk.
