Tyumen residents mistook a traveler in camouflage for a Ukrainian saboteur and tied him to a tree

In the Tyumen region, residents took the traveler, who was dressed in a camouflage suit and walked through the forest, for a Ukrainian saboteur and tied him up, fixing his hands behind a tree. This was reported by the news portal 72.ru, citing a source. The photo was published by the Capital Tyumen District group on VKontakte. In social networks, local residents called the man a Ukrainian saboteur.

According to the publication, the man was walking from Yekaterinburg towards Khabarovsk. The locals thought he was setting fire to the forests and tied him to a tree and then took him to the police station. However, he himself told the security forces that he was just walking through the forest and considers himself a citizen of the world.

The information center of the government of the Tyumen region also published a photo of the man and explained that he was just a hiker. The authorities asked residents to “strictly comply with the laws of the Russian Federation, not engage in arbitrariness and seek help from law enforcement agencies.”
