Fake “Vesti”: an independent French studio made a satirical cartoon about Zelensky, “with a bang” adopted by Europeans

Vesti on the Rossiya 24 channel aired a story entitled “The French made a cartoon about the “many-faced” Zelensky.” It says :

“Every day, a new role. Another series of the French cartoon "Corporation Ukraine" (Ukraine INC) with the participation of actor Zelensky has been released on the Internet. The scenario is life, the events are realistic. Why is the caricature so similar to the truth?

Zelensky, bent in a humiliating bow in front of world leaders, and Biden, who pats him behind the ear like a beloved dog – these are stills from the new episode of the French animated series under the telling name “Corporation Ukraine”. Comedian Zelensky is deservedly assigned the role of the main character.

The creators of a gloomy satire on the topic of Ukrainian realities this time focused on the endless whining of the Kyiv regime about new equipment and weapons. They did not particularly bother with the image of the Ukrainian president, everything is as simple and clear as possible: a trembling outstretched hand, a feigned mournful face and an ingratiating smile.

In general, one can easily read the irritation of the authors from Zelensky's too stormy activities on all platforms that he manages to reach. Since the end of this very activity is not visible, the French animators promise to issue at least 20 episodes dedicated to Ukraine.

According to the scenario, the drug addict Zelensky is not just two-faced, but many-sided. He has a beggar's mask for Western patrons, from whom he begs money supposedly for military equipment, while he himself dreams of a private plane. Fuhrer mask – for an internal audience. True, he calls to go into battle against the backdrop of rows of graves with yellow-black flags. Each lost life replenishes the personal account. Only with Israel did the Kyiv neo-Nazi have a hitch.

But the Pope absolves all sins, one has only to put on a compassionate mask. And, it would seem, after that you can get hidden western trenches from under the floor and fly to hot countries. But the shackles of American curators do not allow to free themselves from the assigned role, dooming the Ukrainian jester to participate in new series.

“The French got to the core of Zelensky, and now they have no illusions about what he is going to do in the future. Apparently, judging by the main idea of the video, he is going to dump. Pardon my French, in every sense of the word. He's going to avoid responsibility for everything he's done. I think that in the next episodes, if there is a continuation, the satire will be more evil, ”says Alexei Mukhin, general director of the Center for Political Information.

The caricature on the screen is striking in its veracity. But something else is surprising: the cartoon was created in France, and yet the authorities of the republic are also in favor of continuing the conflict. It turns out that ordinary Europeans who accepted the video, as they say, “with a bang”, do not support this course?”

The fact that one of Zelensky's sponsors in the series turns out to be a caricatured Jew, drawn in the way that was customary in the Nazi press, and Zelensky, talking to him, puts a yellow six-pointed star on his chest, Vesti is bashfully silent.

Three one-and-a-half-minute videos have indeed been posted on the network – cartoon caricatures of Zelensky. Why Vesti is credited with creating them by some independent French filmmakers is hard to understand. There are no output data in the videos. except for the Ukraine Cocaine that appears at the end of the credits. They are not on the project website either, the only language of which is English. The videos themselves are completely wordless.

But some assumptions about the origin of the cartoons can be made. A very similar cartoon mocking Zelensky, also a minute and a half long, called Stop Nazi Games appeared online in August 2022. It was also attributed to some independent French studio. Instead of an imprint, he had the title Barracudas , this project did not have its own website. The way Zelensky is depicted in these videos suggests that they are drawn by the same hand.

Ukraine Inc.
Stop Nazi Games

Although the author of the cartoon films tried to hide his name, he was apparently inadvertently revealed by a pro-Kremlin ultra-left group called the All-Ukrainian Association Borotba. In August 2022, she published a Stop Nazi Games video on her VK page, presenting it like this:

“Great video describing the current moment in Ukraine: Stop Nazi Games. Author David Saakyants.

David Sahakyants is the son of the classic of Armenian animation cinema, Robert Sahakyants, who created such famous films as “Wow, talking fish!” and "In the blue sea, in the white foam." Saakyants Jr. made the full-length cartoons "Anahit" (in the Russian box office "The Brave Princess") and "Olympionik" ("The Adventures of the Tsar"). The graphic style of Zelensky's caricatures really resembles the films of David Saakyants.

"Olympic"

The Lithuanian online publication Delfi wrote in September 2022 about the authorship of Stop Nazi Games :

“We did not find specific facts confirming this, however, another political cartoon, allegedly made by Saakyants 2 years ago, may be indirect evidence of this version. This is a series of cartoons Kil Dim – a political satire about Azerbaijan as a puppet of Turkey and a threat to the security of Armenia. In 2019, the YouTube channel with Kil Dim cartoons was closed, and it was Sahakyants who commented on the closure.

We watched this short cartoon and found that the style of drawing the characters is somewhat reminiscent of the Stop Nazi Games cartoon. What is even more revealing is that several artistic techniques of this cartoon are also similar: for example, framed photographs depicting the crimes of Turkey (Armenian genocide, Turkish invasion of Cyprus, Turkish intervention in conflicts in Syria and Turkey).

In the video, Erdogan puts Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on his hand like a puppet (just like Zelensky's puppet in Stop Nazi Games ), and then this puppet starts pressing the button with the inscription “war”, and tanks go to Armenia.”

So the assertion of Vesti about the French origin of cartoon films raises serious doubts. With the statement that “ordinary Europeans accepted the video with a bang”, it’s even easier: the project’s website recorded less than 50,000 visits in a month, and only Russian-speaking users posted it on YouTube.
