The Traktorozavodsky District Court of Chelyabinsk arrested Alexei Sidorov, who commented on his YouTube channel on the drone strike on the Kremlin on the night of May 3. A court press release said the man "publicly justified the attack," Avtozak Live reports . This is the first criminal case to justify terrorism since the attack.
Sidorov, according to the court, "in a state of alcoholic intoxication" launched a broadcast on YouTube, during which he "publicly called for the implementation of terrorist activities, publicly justified and propagated the terrorist act" committed during the drone attack on the Kremlin.
On May 11, he was charged with justifying terrorism and sent to prison for two months.
According to the Chelyabinsk information portal 74.ru, Alexei Sidorov called his statements an accident: "It just escaped."
“I am not some kind of political blogger. I don't have any political websites. I am an ordinary person, – said Alexei Sidorov. – I spend these streams, it's just entertaining. 160 people watched my channel, that is, a limited circle of people. Some of these 160 people just took a piece of the video and cut it out and sent it to some, they say, Telegram channels (I didn’t see them), where there are a million subscribers.”
Sidorov was sent to a pre-trial detention center. Under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, he faces up to 7 years in prison. In addition, Sidorov was included in the register of "terrorists and extremists."
