Russian military helicopter Mi-28 crashes in Crimea, both pilots killed

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that two pilots were killed as a result of the crash of an Mi-28 attack helicopter in the annexed Crimea. It follows from the report that the helicopter crashed during a "scheduled training flight" in the Dzhankoy region of Crimea.

The preliminary cause of the crash was equipment failure, the statement said. The Ministry of Defense claims that the flight was carried out without ammunition.

The commission of the main command of the Aerospace Forces was sent to the scene of the accident to clarify all the causes and circumstances of the incident, the Defense Ministry added.
