Suspects of stealing money through instant messengers on behalf of Margarita Simonyan were detained in Perm

In Perm, the police detained three local residents who, on behalf of the editor-in-chief of RT, propagandist Margarita Simonyan, were collecting money for "voluntary assistance" to the Russian military. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the investigation, young people created several fake channels, the number of subscribers of which exceeded 100,000.

“It was previously established that the attackers posted messages about the need to purchase equipment for the needs of military personnel performing tasks in the NVO zone. Those who wished to help were offered to transfer money to bank cards allegedly belonging to volunteers. After that, the collected funds were stolen,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

It is alleged that the turnover on the detainees' accounts over the past month and a half has exceeded 7 million rubles.
