Danila Kozlovsky goes on vacation until the end of the year "due to personal circumstances", the actor announced this on his Telegram channel. All May performances with his participation at the Maly Drama Theater (MDT) – Theater of Europe have been cancelled.
In early April, Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federal Project for Security and Combating Corruption, asked the Prosecutor General's Office to check Kozlovsky for "discrediting" the army due to the fact that after the outbreak of the war he left for the United States, and also published an anti-war post on Instagram and allegedly urged to go to rallies in one of the interviews. On April 17, the prosecutor's office began checking. Shortly after that, the MDT postponed for a month the performances of "Deceit and Love" and "Hamlet", in which Kozlovsky played.
The actor himself said that he went to the United States to visit the child. “I never left my country. Every month for the last year (and before that, another 15 years), I go on stage at the St. Petersburg Maly Drama Theater, ” wrote Kozlovsky.
On May 6, it became known that Rospotrebnadzor sealed the MDT building in St. Petersburg, after which a protocol was drawn up on violation of sanitary standards. The case has been taken to court, and the theater faces a fine or temporary closure.
On February 27, 2022, Kozlovsky wrote an open letter to Vladimir Putin asking him to stop the war in Ukraine. “What is happening now is a disaster. In every sense, ”the actor wrote.
