As a result of an explosion in a barbershop in the center of Luhansk, “acting head of the LNR Interior Ministry” Igor Kornet was wounded. This is reported by the pro-Kremlin media and z-military correspondents.
TASS, citing "law enforcement agencies of the LPR," writes that the explosion in the barbershop was an attempt on Kornet's life. According to the news agency, he was seriously injured and is now in intensive care. The source of RIA Novosti writes that the condition of the collaborator is assessed as stable. Telegram channel Baza reports that Cornet was a regular visitor to the barbershop where the explosion occurred. In addition to him, five other people were allegedly injured in the explosion.
Since 2014 and the beginning of the war in eastern Ukraine, Kornet fought on the side of the "LPR". In August of the same year, he was appointed to the post of "Minister of the Interior of the LPR". In 2017, the head of the "LPR" Igor Plotnitsky tried to fire him, but Kornet refused to leave his post. In addition, on his orders, security forces were brought into the center of Lugansk and some members of the leadership of the self-proclaimed republic were arrested. The Russian authorities then supported Kornet.
In 2017, he became a defendant in a criminal case in Russia. He was suspected of covering up the murder of Russian Artem Bulgakov, who worked in his bodyguards.
