Anatoly Chubais, the former head of Rosnano and ex-special envoy of the President of Russia for sustainable development, denied the information that appeared in the media about the exchange of a temporary identity card for a permanent one in Israel. He did not confirm the fact that he owns real estate objects in this country, TASS reports .
“Neither the first statement, about the exchange of a temporary certificate, nor the second, about real estate in Israel, are true,” Chubais said.
Earlier, the Israeli publication "Details" reported that Chubais, along with his wife Avdotya Smirnova, was noticed at the Ministry of Internal Affairs department in northern Israel. The publication claimed that Chubais filed a request for long-term Israeli documents – a permanent identity card or an Israeli passport. "Details" noted that Chubais owns "at least one piece of real estate" in Israel.
In March last year, Chubais resigned from the post of special representative of the President of Russia on sustainable development and went abroad. According to Bloomberg, Chubais left Russia because he refused to support the war launched by Russian President Vladimir Putin against Ukraine.
From 2008 to 2020, Chubais served as the CEO of Rosnano.
