The Golovinsky District Court of Moscow has sentenced a Colombian citizen who was accused of spreading "fakes" about the Russian army. As Mediazona was informed by the press service of the court, Alberto Enrique Giraldo Saray was sentenced to five years and two months in a penal colony.
The Colombian was arrested in April 2022 and accused of spreading “fake news” via SMS. According to investigators, Giraldo placed six mobile phones in one of the shopping centers in Moscow, from which messages about the war in Ukraine were sent, including about the killings of civilians by the Russian military.
It was alleged that the actions of the Colombian were led by some people from abroad. Two people are on the wanted list in this case: Ramirez Salazar and Briseño Mendoza.
