Bloomberg: Russia agreed to extend the grain deal

Russia has given its consent to the extension of the grain deal with Ukraine. Bloomberg writes about this, citing unnamed Turkish officials. The Grain Deal is an agreement between Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the United Nations that allows Ukraine to export its grain crop from key ports across the Black Sea.

A few hours before the publication of the Bloomberg news about the extension of the grain deal, Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov refused to speak: “I don’t think that any hypothetical reasoning is appropriate here. So far no decision has been made. Here you just have to wait for it to be announced.”

The last time Russia extended a grain deal was in March 2023 for 60 days. It officially ends on May 18, 2023. On May 17, the last vessel with grain left the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk within this period.
