The SBU has established the identity of the citizens filming the work of the Kyiv air defense

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announces the identification of six citizens living in Kiev who filmed the operation of the city's air defense systems during a massive rocket attack from Russia on May 16.

It is noted that these people posted videos on social networks that can reveal the position and specifics of the functioning of Ukrainian air defense systems. Very quickly, these materials were picked up and distributed by Telegram channels and public groups of Russian propagandists.

In addition, the SBU discovered and blocked the operation of public online cameras that transmitted the work of Ukrainian air defense in real time. They belong to several Kyiv commercial structures, while access to these cameras was not limited. It is reported that Russia used the data obtained with the help of them to adjust air strikes on the capital of Ukraine.

Searches were carried out at the places of residence of citizens who recorded the operation of air defense systems on video. The means by which they recorded and distributed content were seized.

The Criminal Code of Ukraine prohibits the dissemination of information regarding “the direction, movement of weapons, weapons and ammunition in Ukraine, as well as the movement, movement or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine” under martial law. According to Part 2 of Art. 114-2, attackers face 5 to 8 years in prison.

On the night of May 16, residents of Kyiv observed a large number of air defense missile launches and heard many explosions in the sky. In the official Telegram channel of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, it was reported that six Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, nine Caliber cruise missiles from ships in the Black Sea and three missiles from ground-based installations were fired at the city. All of them were shot down by Ukrainian air defense systems.
