BBC: Muscovites are being recruited into the army through Zhilischnik utility companies

Residents of Moscow are being recruited into the army through the vacancies of the State Budgetary Institution Zhilischnik, according to the BBC. Journalists found several vacancies for "guards" with salaries of 170-240 thousand rubles, which in fact turned out to be an offer to conclude a contract with the Ministry of Defense and go to war.

The vacancies posted by Zhilischniks of the Ryazan region and Kuzminok say that no work experience is needed, but training for up to two months will be required. One of the announcements states that the proposed vacancy is associated with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and guarantees the successful candidate "the status of a combat veteran", and it will be necessary to deal with "protection of the territorial borders of the Russian Federation." In another ad, it only refers to the "protection of the fixed territory", and the Ministry of Defense is not mentioned.

In both ads, the same phone number is indicated for communication, which is answered by a person named Stanislav. “There we are talking about concluding a contract for military service, this is work in a special operation zone. The contract will be with the Ministry of Defense, just for an additional payment from the city of Moscow, you are hired by the State Budgetary Institution Zhilischnik. You seem to be coming from an organization,” Stanislav told a BBC correspondent. He also explained that military recruitment is disguised as a "security guard" position, since "such vacancies cannot be advertised by an organization that is not related to the Ministry of Defense."

Earlier in May, it was reported that employees of Zhilischnik and other communal organizations in Moscow were ordered to be on duty in courtyards and near urban infrastructure, looking for drones in the sky and suspicious objects on the ground.

In December, The Insider obtained a recording of a conversation during which Ksenia Kravtsova, the head of the Lomonosovsky district council of the capital, demanded that employees of the Zhilischnik State Budgetary Institution deliver summonses for the autumn conscription at night.

GBU Zhilischnik is subordinate to the Department of Housing and Public Utilities of the Moscow Mayor's Office, which is headed by Vyacheslav Torsunov.
