Russia again attacked the territory of Ukraine at night, Kyiv, Krivoy Rog and Lvov came under fire. The Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Facebook that during the night air defense attack, 16 Shahed-136/131 UAVs and three Kalibr cruise missiles were destroyed. In total, launches of 22 drones and six Caliber were recorded. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation did not comment on the information.
In Kyiv, the Ukrainian air defense system worked, all the drones were shot down. This is the tenth attack on Kyiv in a month, said the head of the Kyiv city military administration, Sergei Popko. He noted that in this way the Russian military is trying to deplete the Ukrainian air defense systems, as well as psychologically influence the civilian population.

At night, the Russian military also attacked Krivoy Rog. There were several explosions in the city, the head of the regional military administration Alexander Vilkul said that there were 4 "hit". A private enterprise and an office building were hit, workshops and equipment were destroyed. Two people were injured – a 64-year-old woman in serious condition, a 45-year-old man was slightly injured.
In Lviv, drones attacked a critical infrastructure facility, Mayor Andriy Sadovoy said. No one was injured in the attack, he said. The head of the regional military administration (OVA), Maxim Kozitsky, said that the air defense system had been triggered.
On May 16, a representative of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, said that all six Russian Kh-47 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles flying to Kiev were destroyed. On May 4, the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the first time reported that they shot down a Russian "Dagger" in the sky over the Kyiv region. The Pentagon confirmed the information, adding that the "Dagger" was shot down with the help of the American Patriot air defense system.
