Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar writes in her Telegram channel that the Ukrainian armed forces continue to hold the Samolet quarter in the city of Bakhmut, as well as the private sector adjacent to it. At the same time, she reports on “heavy battles” and a “critical situation”.
Serhiy Cherevaty, a representative of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, also speaks about this. According to him, Ukrainian units continue to stand in the southwestern part of the city, defending their positions and "do not allow the enemy to capture them."
Earlier, the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, made a video statement about the “complete” capture of Bakhmut by the forces of his mercenaries. At the same time, according to him, on May 25, having built “defense lines”, the “Wagnerites” will leave the city for “rest and retraining”, leaving it to the forces of the Russian Defense Ministry.
Prigozhin repeatedly threatened to withdraw his forces from Bakhmut. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to "cut" the flanks of the Russian military near Bakhmut.
