The former vice-governor of the Vladimir region Dmitry Khvostov, who was sentenced to 12 years in a strict regime colony for bribery, was found in the war in Ukraine. This is evidenced by a photo that was found by the Vladimir edition of "Chesnok".
Khvostov took bribes from well-known developers in the city of Vladimir – Alexei Andreev, Andrei Zambin and Alexander Shamov. In 2020, in addition to the term in the colony, he was awarded a fine of 40 million rubles. In addition, property worth a total of 91 million rubles was confiscated from him and people associated with him.
Judging by the information published on the website of the Leninsky District Court, at the end of April 2022, Khvostov filed a motion regarding the execution of the sentence. It was satisfied. Such petitions may involve early release.
Similarly, the deputy of the Ryazan Regional Duma Nikita Usachev, accused of fraud on an especially large scale, escaped from the verdict. Heannounced that he was leaving to fight in Ukraine two days before the trial in his case, on May 9, 2023.
In addition to him, the mayor of the seaside town of Bolshoy Kamen, Rustyam Abushaev, who was put on the federal wanted list again in the case of fraud, also went to war from criminal prosecution. On March 8, 2023, he recorded a video clip in which he announced his sudden desire to “defend the interests of the motherland.”
