Prigozhin announced the “complete” capture of Bakhmut by the forces of PMC Wagner

The head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced the "complete" capture of Bakhmut. This, according to him, happened at noon on May 20. The video with Prigozhin standing with the Russian flag in his hands against the backdrop of the ruins of the Ukrainian city is published by his press service.

In the video, he recalls that the operation to capture Bakhmut, which he calls the "Bakhmut meat grinder", lasted 224 days. According to him, it began on October 8, 2022, "to enable the battered Russian army to recover."

He additionally emphasized that this operation was allegedly carried out exclusively by the Wagner PMC. “There was not, as Konashenkov said, the Airborne Forces and anyone else who could help us. We helped ourselves,” Prigogine said.
